Spirituality

St. James School exists to educate the whole child; mind, body and spirit.  Through a rigorous academic curriculum and a strong program of faith development, each graduate walks away from St. James School with the skills necessary to succeed in high school, to navigate the shoals of adolescence, and prepare to be healthy, productive, and spiritually strong adults.  We hope that they will be life-long learners in the ways of the faith, never separating life from faith!

Spirituality and faith development are at the core of our formation program.  Students take part in the following spiritual activities on a regular basis.

  • Daily morning prayer based on the Liturgy of the Hours
  • Daily religion class
  • Weekly Mass
  • First Friday Mass
  • Mass on each Holy Day of Obligation
  • Regular celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation
  • Live Nativity
  • Christmas program
  • Recitation of the Rosary, especially during October and May
  • Stations of the Cross on Fridays during Lent
  • May Crowning to honor the Blessed Mother
